 Pre-Paid Baggage FAQ

Q. I pre-paid for two checked bags, but now I’ve decided to only check one.  Will the additional fee be refunded?

A. All carriers, with the exception of United will not charge you credit card until you present your luggage at check-in.  So, if you indicate you will be bringing 2 bags and only end up with 1, you will not charged.  United, however, has advised you will not be refunded for this pre-paid charge.  If you are undecided as to how many bags you will bring, your best bet is to select 1.

Q. My assistant handles my online check-in and pre pays my baggage fees with the company credit card on file.  Will I be asked to present this credit card for verification at the ticket counter?

A. No.  You will not be asked to present the credit card used for payment IF your bags are in compliance with what you have indicated on in the online check-in process.  If your bags are overweight, or if you bring an additional bag, then you will need to produce another form of payment, or present the card used online for additional charges.
